Seika Racing

Private alpha — coming to iOS and Android

Race analytics for real boats. Live guidance on the water, the full story after.

Seika Racing turns your boat's instrument data into race-time guidance and a post-race report you'll actually read. Built aboard an IMX 40, tested in Galician wind and chop.

What it does

Everything between the five-minute gun and the debrief

  • 01

    Chart first, hands free

Your boat, your trail, laylines and polar-performance colouring on one screen. It connects on its own and records every sail the moment you start moving. MARK START and MARK FINISH are the only buttons you'll touch during a race.

  • 02

    Start-line tools

Distance to the line, time to burn and line bias, so the last two minutes before the gun are about sailing, not arithmetic.

  • 03

    Course planning

A library of the fixed marks on your local circuit, published routes, custom courses and start-line pins. Set the course once, share it with the crew.

  • 04

    The post-race report

Every leg, every tack and gybe. Time-weighted polar percentage, tack count and recovery, lost time per leg, and your best and worst legs called out plainly.

  • 05

    Measured against your rating

Pull your boat's actual ORC certificate and see performance against your own polars, not a generic one. Data © ORC.

  • 06

    Sensor health

Physics-based cross-checks that catch a dead wind sensor, a stuck compass or a miscalibrated log, with plain-language findings, the evidence, and what to check. Plus an inventory of every device on the boat network.

  • 07

    Charts that suit the job

Standard, nautical chart with EMODnet bathymetry, or satellite. All with OpenSeaMap seamarks.

How it connects

Start with your phone. Add the boat when you're ready.

The app works with whatever you've got. More data in, more insight out.

  1. Free

    Phone only

Position, speed and course over ground from your phone's GPS. No wind data, but a full track and report for every race.

    You need: A phone.

  2. Boat instruments

    Multiplexer

Connect to a WiFi multiplexer already on many boats and get wind, depth, heading and boat speed streamed straight into the app over NMEA 0183.

You need: A WiFi multiplexer, such as a Vela Navega, on the boat network.

  3. Seika box

    Full rig

A small onboard server that reads the whole NMEA 2000 network, records everything even when the phone is below deck, and serves the app over the boat's WiFi. Logs can be imported later over SFTP.

You need: Our onboard device, built on a Raspberry Pi and SignalK. Details soon.

Pricing for the app and the onboard device will be announced when we launch.

Built on a real boat

Tested aboard Seika, in the Ría

This isn't a demo built at a desk. Every feature has been used in anger on our own IMX 40, wired into a real NMEA 2000 network, in the conditions the Galician coast throws at you. If it doesn't survive a wet race day, it doesn't ship.
